These terms are the agreement between you and Get hitched (“we”, “us”) when you use our wedding website builder and planning tools. They are written with EU and UK consumer law and US law in mind. The short version: be kind, your content stays yours, and nothing here takes away rights the law guarantees you.
1. Who we are
Get hitched is the wedding website builder and planning service provided by Granular Development LTD (“we”, “us”); these terms are an agreement between you and Granular Development LTD. Questions: admin@granulardevelopment.com. By creating a site or using the service you agree to these terms — please also read the Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data.
2. Who can use Get hitched
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. Keep your sign-in details safe: you are responsible for what happens under your account. Everything you tell us must be accurate.
3. The service and your plan
The Basic plan is free. Paid plans are a single one-time payment that unlocks extra features for your wedding — no subscription, no renewal. Published websites stay live for one year after your wedding date; you can extend for free, a year at a time, and we email you before the year ends. An offline site is kept for a six-month grace period (we email you before it ends), then permanently deleted unless you extend.
We keep improving Get hitched and may change features over time; if we ever have to withdraw something a paid plan promised you, we will offer a fair remedy.
Refunds: every package purchase (upgrades included) is refundable in full within 14 days of purchase — ask from your website’s Settings or by email. Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 working days. This sits alongside, and never limits, your statutory rights.
4. Your content stays yours
Everything you add — photos, text, guest lists, guest book notes — remains yours. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely to run the service, for example showing your published site to the people you share it with. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for having the right to share what you upload — including photos of other people.
5. Your guests’ information
Data protection laws (GDPR, UK GDPR, and US state laws) can make you responsible for the guest details you add. Only add information you legitimately have, use it only for your wedding, and honour guests’ requests to see or delete their data. We process guest data solely on your instructions, as the Privacy Policy describes.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes anyone’s rights, including copyright and privacy;
- use the service to send spam or unsolicited marketing;
- upload malware, probe or overload our systems, or scrape other couples’ sites;
- resell the service or use it for events you have no connection to.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules — with prior warning unless the breach is serious.
7. Published sites and the guest book
Anyone with your link can view your published site, unless you protect it with a password. Every guest book note waits for your approval before it appears anywhere, and you can delete any note — along with its photo — at any time. You are the moderator of your own site; we step in only where content breaks these terms or the law.
8. Our intellectual property
The Get hitched software, designs, templates, illustrations, and brand are ours or our licensors’ and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them within your site while you use the service. You may not copy, resell, or use them outside Get hitched.
9. Payments, cancellation, and refunds
Prices are shown before you pay, including VAT or sales tax where applicable, and paid plans are a single one-time charge processed securely by Stripe — your card details never touch our servers.
If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for digital purchases. When you buy, you ask us to provide the plan immediately and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal lapses once the service is fully performed. Your statutory guarantees are untouched: under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the EU digital content rules, digital services must be as described and work properly — if ours don’t, you are entitled to a repair, a price reduction, or a refund.
On top of that, wherever you live: if Get hitched lets you down, write to us within 30 days of purchase and we will make it right or refund you.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Get hitched, or delete your sites and account, at any time — no notice needed. We may suspend or terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. When your account closes we delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy; sections of these terms that by their nature should continue (such as intellectual property and liability) survive.
11. Disclaimers and liability
We provide Get hitched with reasonable care and skill, but — like every online service — we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, so please keep your own copies of irreplaceable photos.
To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 100 (or the equivalent in your currency).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, your mandatory consumer protections override anything here that conflicts with them; some US states likewise do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Governing law and disputes
If you live in the United Kingdom: these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where you live. If you live in the European Union: you enjoy the mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Everywhere else, including the United States: these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, and disputes will be heard by the state or federal courts located there.
Wherever you are, please email us first — almost every problem is faster to fix over email than in court.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and we will notify you in advance — by email or in the app — of any material change. If you do not agree with a change, you can close your account; if you have paid for a plan that a change materially harms, we will refund the unused part.
14. The small print
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. Not enforcing a term today is not a waiver of it tomorrow. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us, and they are personal to you — you cannot transfer them to someone else without asking us first.
